Training with the American Council of the Blind/Audio Description Project’s virtual Audio Description Institute (ADI) was an incredible experience, teaching me how to be an objective, succinct and imaginative describer along the way.

Wanting to make a positive impact in Audio Description, I reached out to Roy Samuelson (roysamuelson.com) – consultant, producer, narrator and advocate for blind and low vision audiences and professionals. After discussing my passions, Roy and I hit on something…MUSIC. Specifically, describing Album Cover Art. Roy enthusiastically suggested Album “Artio” Describe as the project title, which was perfect.

I began researching albums and writing scripts. Roy then connected me to blind advisors for copy review. Each self-produced three-minute video includes vivid description of the album cover plus background information on the art or recording of that album.

Providing content that helps blind or low vision music fans experience album cover artwork, as a sighted person might experience it, with the possibility of influencing a future album purchase brings me joy.
